Our Data Sources

Transparency is core to our mission. Here is exactly where we get our data.

Open Geospatial Data

Our foundational mapping layer relies on open-source geographic datasets to establish boundaries, coastlines, and baseline points of interest.

Dive Operator Submissions

The most accurate information comes from the people diving the sites every day. Verified dive center owners can submit explicit coordinates, depths, and hazard updates for the local sites they operate on.

Operator-submitted data receives our highest 'Trust Score' multiplier in the verification engine, prioritizing their local knowledge over other scraped sources.

Community Aggregation & AI

We use sophisticated crawlers and AI to ingest unstructured text from hundreds of dispersed diving blogs, forums, and outdated directories. The AI cross-references mentions of depths, marine life, and hazards, converting them into structured database facts.
