Diving atAd Jatia (Spain)

Ad Jatia, known locally as Cala Viola de Levante, presents a compelling dive experience shaped by its distinctive topography of volcanic formations and expansive sandy stretches. Divers typically commence exploration in a calm, protected cove.

Dive boats commonly set anchor here in approximately 5 meters / 16 feet of water, offering a secure entry point. This sheltered area provides ideal conditions for initial gear checks and buoyancy adjustments. Following the natural contours of the cap wall, divers gradually increase depth, immersing themselves in the site's unique geology.

An initial progression leads to the dramatic reveal of a pronounced canyon, where the seafloor descends further to around 15 meters. Canyon walls, sculpted by ancient volcanic activity, present interesting crevices and overhangs to explore.

Moving beyond the canyon's confines, topography opens into an extensive plain. This deeper area, found at depths of 20 to 25 meters / 65 to 82 feet, is characterized by a mosaic of scattered rocks interspersed with wide, open sandy patches.

Varied features, from dramatic geological structures to soft sediments, create dynamic habitats for a broad spectrum of marine life.
