About the Sea Dragons

"Sea dragons" refer to a fascinating group of marine life species. For divers, this designation most commonly points to specific species like the Leafy seadragon (Phycodurus eques), the Common seadragon, also known as the Weedy seadragon (Phyllopteryx taeniolatus), and the more recently identified Ruby seadragon (Phyllopteryx dewysea).

These creatures represent distinct biological entities. While the Common and Ruby seadragons belong to the Phyllopteryx genus, the Leafy seadragon is classified separately within its own genus. Their unique names differentiate them from a variety of other items, both natural and artificial, that also bear the "sea dragon" moniker.
